Guojun Cha, 62, Contemporary painter from Shanghai, has exhibited at the Museums of Shanghai and Bejing. He is at the forefront of a group of Chinese painters, free from past political restraints, expressing themselves abstractly with elegance and formality. "Bone Inscription Series" in ink, watercolor and acrylic on rice paper is based on a Chinese character from a group found on a 3500 year old animal bone. They have been deciphered to represent basic elements like fire, water or numbers.
